Lee County Permit Search: eConnect Is Down, Here Is the Working Link

If you are trying to search Lee County permits and eConnect will not load, you are not doing anything wrong. The county’s portal address is down. The search itself still works at a different address.

Lee County’s permit system runs on a platform called Accela. The county normally points residents at its own branded address, aca.leegov.com, but the same system is also reachable directly at the vendor’s address:

That link opens the same eConnect system with the same records. You do not need an account to search. From the home screen you can look up any Lee County permit by:

• Street address
• Permit or case number
• Parcel (STRAP) number
• Contractor or licensed professional
• Owner or contact name

Open any result to see the permit’s status, inspection history, and issue date. An account is only needed to submit applications, upload plans, or pay fees.

What is broken, exactly

As of August 8, 2026, the county’s own portal address at aca.leegov.com does not respond at all. This is the address the county’s Search eConnect page still links to, which is why following the county’s own instructions currently dead-ends.

Two related county addresses, accelaaca.leegov.com and leefl.gov, both serve an “Under Maintenance” holding page instead. The headers on that page show it was deployed on July 31, 2026, so the maintenance state has run more than a week. For comparison, the county’s planned eConnect upgrade in May 2025 was announced ahead of time and lasted a single three-day weekend.

We found no county announcement explaining the current outage or saying when the normal address will return. Search interest in phrases like “econnect lee county” and “lee county permit search” began climbing around July 25 and has stayed elevated since, which is consistent with residents and contractors hitting a dead bookmark and hunting for a way in.

Does the outage affect my permit?

The permit records themselves are fine. The underlying Accela system is up and serving normally at the vendor address, complete with search, inspection results, and application status. What is broken is the county’s branded doorway to it, not the building department’s data.

If you need to do something that genuinely requires county staff, such as resolving a hold on a permit, the Community Development office remains reachable by phone regardless of the portal outage.

When the county link comes back

Once Lee County restores aca.leegov.com, the county’s own links will work again and either address should land you in the same place. Until then, bookmark the vendor address above. We verified every link in this guide on August 8, 2026, and will update it when the county’s address is restored.
